Man but The Guard is a smashing film. And what a gem, what a jewel, what perfect perfect performance is given in it by the great Fionnula Flanagan. Once again I’m reminded of what a master this actress is.
God help me, what an awesome job would this woman do with the role of Cheryl Finnerty in Taken Away / Into the Grey. The tender moments with James Hueston when they are reliving their youth, the flashes of her zesty self through the broken present – I shiver to think what Ms Flanagan would do with this.
A girl can dream.
I loved her in Lost. I’ll have to check this movie out too!
